Accessibility statement

Accessibility statement

Neve s.r.l. is committed to making neve.dev accessible in line with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), the technical standard EN 301 549, and WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement applies to the public website neve.dev. Last reviewed: 4 August 2026.

Conformance status

Partially compliant with EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.2 AA. The site is built for accessibility in source (semantic HTML, skip links, keyboard navigation, visible focus, reduced-motion support, no accessibility overlay widgets). Known gaps are listed below and are being addressed.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared by Neve s.r.l. on the basis of a self-assessment of the current codebase and documented issues. It will be reviewed when material site changes ship, and at least once a year.

Known limitations

  • Home motion background. The generative shader is decorative (aria-hidden). Soft dark scrims sit behind the statement and footer so white text meets contrast targets over mid-grey frames; extreme shader states may still briefly reduce contrast. Prefer prefers-reduced-motion for a still background.
  • Splash screen. On first visit the home splash may hide visible content for a few seconds while assets load. A status region announces loading; content remains in the document.
  • Project tables. Works and Research listings use CSS grid rows rather than native <table> markup. Each row is a single link whose cells read in order; column headers are not exposed as table headers to assistive technology.
  • Some media. Decorative images use empty alt. Project stills and videos may lack extended text alternatives beyond the surrounding project copy.
  • Analytics. Matomo (self-hosted) loads only after consent. That script is outside our full control for accessibility.

What we already support

  • Skip to main content on every page
  • Keyboard access to navigation, menus, and interactive controls
  • Visible :focus-visible outlines
  • Mobile menu removes background content from the tab / accessibility tree while open
  • prefers-reduced-motion for the home shader and UI motion
  • Native remediation (no third-party accessibility overlay)
  • Cookie / analytics choices without blocking site content
